Choosing a facade course starts with your experience and the work you want to understand. Compare the syllabus, entry requirements, teaching format and recognition before comparing prices. This guide explains the three study routes published by Oxley Façades – Façade Engineering Academy.
Start with your current knowledge
If you are new to façades, start with building-envelope fundamentals: systems, materials, drawings, interfaces and performance. If you already work in architecture, engineering or construction, consider whether you need a foundation, deeper technical understanding or advanced specialist judgement.
Compare the three façade courses
- Certificate in Façade Technology with CAD & BIM Essentials: six months, with 60 hours of live online lectures. Designed as a starting route; no previous façade qualification or work experience is required.
- Diploma in Façade Technology: nine months, with 90 hours of live online teaching. Builds deeper knowledge of systems, structures, building physics, fire safety, existing façades and delivery.
- Professional Diploma in Façade Engineering: twelve months, with 120 hours of live online teaching. Designed for applicants with a relevant technical background and experience.
The Certificate and Diploma are not mandatory prerequisites for advanced study when an applicant has a suitable background. Admission to future Diploma intakes is assessed when applications open.
Check what CAD and BIM teaching includes
The Certificate introduces AutoCAD and Revit/BIM after the façade foundation. The Diploma and Professional Diploma have no formal CAD/BIM strand. Check computer and software requirements before enrolling, and choose the course for its whole learning purpose.
Choose a timetable you can sustain
The Certificate offers Tuesday and Thursday classes at either 07:00 or 18:00 UK time. The Diploma has weekday or weekend options. The Professional Diploma offers a monthly intensive weekend or a five-hour day on alternate weekends. Enrolled learners can access class recordings through the learning system. Confirm the current intake dates and local time-zone arrangements with the academy.

Compare the total fee, registration amount, instalments and any upfront offer. Read the current course page and terms before applying. Consider the time needed for practice, assignments and assessment as well as live classes. Relevant qualifications and experience influence which route suits you.
Understand accreditation and career outcomes
Oxley Facades Ltd appears in the CPD Standards Office provider directory under earlier activity titles. Confirm the documentation and scope for the course and intake you choose; Diploma accreditation is in progress. Read the current accreditation clarification.
Training can support your knowledge and professional development. It does not automatically provide an academic degree, professional registration or a job. Engineering roles may require additional qualifications and registration. Explore façade career areas and published learner experiences.
